At first I was just shocked but then I thought about all my memories there and I got pretty sad. Nothing will be going on in the rehearsal hall any more... No life in the dorms. Not only do I feel extremely sad for the students who are getting completely jipped, but so many great people and friends that we worshiped with who might not be able to stay in the NW. Granted, there are a number of other good schools in the area that could provide jobs for a few but some will inevitably have to move away whether it's to another school or even a ministry role at a church somewhere. Teens chose to go to Cascade for any number of reasons and it stinks that some won't be able to get to OC. It's great that they're honoring all scholarships, but what about plane tickets? We pooled money together just to get one of our teens to be able to buy her books. She has one year left... In my opinion, I wouldn't worry about trying to finish at OC. There are a number of Biblical, great colleges in this area. At least they have a little time to be able to work out all the things that need to be decided. It's sad, real sad. What's going to happen with the campus? It can't just sit there while Columbia uses the cafeteria and rehearsal hall...
